What we do

To achieve our goal of One Game all we enable providers of tennis and recreational players.

We want to improve tennis delivery in all Local Authority facilities; that includes Parks, Schools and municipal facilities. Our Hotspot and Parks activities will introduce millions of new players to the game, and allow them to play and enjoy tennis on a regular basis.

  • Our teams are enabling more people of all ages and abilities to play tennis.
  • Our education team cover all schools, colleges and universities.
  • The disability team covers all aspects of disability tennis (wheelchair, deaf, and those with learning disabilities) including performance, and development.
  • In order to fund our activities we create opportunities for sponsors and donators.

Our events team have built up a well deserved reputation for creating some of the most exciting and innovative fundraising events.

We believe that playing tennis is not only fun but it is really good for you, so everything we do is to make One Game All a reality

What we are doing

Hotspots

We want more people of all ages and abilities to play tennis, Hotspots will do just that, 'joined up' thinking makes things really happen for tennis for everyone.

Schools - virtual coach

A new and innovative DVD resource developed to assist the primary school teaching fraternity to teach tennis to large mixed ability classes of children without the frustration or embarrassment of demonstrating what can appear to be highly skilled and complex activities.

'The virtual coach' resource allows the teacher to access demonstrations of 6 weeks of tennis sessions, developed in line with the teaching curriculum in England, Scotland and Wales. The DVD expert demonstrations are played to the class within the confines and comfort of their own schools hall during their PE/Games lesson, whilst the teacher ensures the tasks and exercises are achievable to every child yet challenging for the more able.

The 'Virtual Coach' DVD resource is currently under development and will be available for primary schools tennis delivery from the beginning of 2009.

Wheelchair Camps

Fun filled weekends for players of all standards. Coaching and friendship, combined with improvement and enjoyment.

What we will be doing

The Tennis Foundation has put an on-going Evaluation and Monitoring Systems in place.

Alongside any supported programme of sustainable tennis, there has to be consistent coach recruitment, and training and mentoring system, which enables the delivery of tennis for education, parks and indoor centres to be organised to a high standard.

This will allow talented juniors to progress, as well as providing a tennis environment for the social player of all ages and abilities.

CORBY ITI - Northamptonshire
The Status
Indoor but no outdoor courts.

The need New outdoor floodlit courts.

Why will this help? The local community can then access courts even when a tournament is going on indoors.

How we are helping The TF are now working with the owners, operators, Local Authority and the head of the coaching team to produce a 3/5 year business plan which will increase community use through the enhancement of outdoor floodlit courts.

DEAL ITI - Kent
The Status
2 indoor air hall structures have been lost in the gales which have battered the south coast over the past decade.

The need To have a more robust structure to cover the courts.

Why will this help? It will help to sustain the programme for community tennis delivery by the East Kent Tennis coaches no matter what the weather.

How we are helping The TF is at present working with the Local Authority and the LTA Facilities Team to secure tenders from several indoor structure companies to finalise the building and then with planning permission secured we hope that players of all ages can enjoy once again indoor tennis in Deal.
