Local Authorities- Play your Park, a 3 year plan

By Oct 09 we plan to have 50 Beacon Sites.

*

To become a Beacon Site you ideally need a minimum of 6 visible courts with existing players.

In year one a 10 mile radius around a Beacon site should cover a minimum of 200,000 people

We plan to have:

  • Full time tennis coach/es (recreational)
  • And in the summer Play Makers for the Play your Park momentum builders
  • Free equipment loan and maybe even practice walls
  • Windbreaks and a temporary social area
  • All the Beacon activities will be co-ordinated by the new tennis online community e park.

e park will generate competitive tennis, court bookings, social interaction and many more features that will help build a new type of tennis club

If a player plays more than 6 times at a Beacon Site they qualify for a free British Tennis membership British Tennis membership.

Parks

In year One we plan to have 300 Self Service parks

At each Self Service Park there will be

  • New style rules and guides on how to enjoy tennis
  • All Self Service courts will be logged onto e park and will be marketed by the play your park programme

To become part of the Self Service Park programme, your facility must be free for social use.

Currently the Tennis Foundation are logging all Local Authority Tennis facilities across England, Wales and Scotland

If you would like to be considered to be a Beacon Site or a Self Service Park please contact the TF.
