Improve public tennis facilities
There are approximately 10,000 park courts across the UK, plus probably the same number on secondary school sites. Many of these courts could be used for free social use if they were in good shape, and coaches could offer coaching and competitive programmes throughout the year. We want more people to start playing tennis whatever their age or ability.
If you want to improve your facilities - Have a look at the LTA Places to Play Strategy to find out more.

Do your facilities fulfil the Disabled Discrimination Act (DDA) requirements, need help and advice contact the TF
The Disabled Discrimination Act (DDA) came into effect in 1995 and gives disabled people important rights of access to everyday services. Service providers now have to make reasonable adjustments to the way we deliver services in order for disabled people can use them.
The LTA/TF being a service provider has a responsibility to ensure that tennis centres, clubs, park courts etc, make reasonable adjustments in order that disabled people can access tennis.
The DDA is not always about physical access but about ensuring we are inclusive as a sport at every level. This could also include disability awareness training for staff, coaches and officials, ensuring that literature incorporates information for disabled people on inclusive and specific impairment sessions. However, above all everyone receives a welcoming attitude.
