    • How many people will benefit?
    • How will you know your project is a success?
    • Plan in advance & allow time
    • Identify all potential partners
  2. Clarify your needs
    • What do you want?
    • Why do you want it?
    • Who is involved?
    • Who do you need involved?
    • Why do you need them?
    • How can you get them involved?

A winning chance!

*

1. Plan for success - most important! Appreciate your timing needs in line with the funders time lines and make sure they match up! Have enough time to secure all the necessary partnership support

*

2. Research your potential funder thoroughly. Make sure you are a good match for each other.

3. Identify the need - to secure funds you need to persuade the donor that there is a problem to be solved and you can do it! Ask yourself Why on earth should anyone want to support us? What is so important about what we are doing?

Don't just tell people about what you do but why you do it and how it is so important!

Ingredients of a good application:

*
  • Project title
  • Summary sentence
  • Introduction - who you are
  • The problem - why something needs to be done
  • Your proposal - the solution you offer
  • Why you should do it
  • The amount you need
  • The request - how much to ask for
  • The funding plan - how you will secure the other funds
  • The future

Remember to sell yourselves!!
