Schools Competitions
The Tennis Foundation works together with the LTA to jointly lead on the co-ordination of Schools Tennis competitions in Great Britain.
There are three categories of Schools Tennis Competitions (National, Local & Other) and there should be a strong emphasis on Team Tennis across all events.

The framework has been created to enable a level of standardisation and consistency across the National and Local Competitions. However, we are understanding of differing local needs and will provide support and flexibility for other types of competitions, where appropriate.
There are 3 categories of Schools Tennis Competitions:
-
National Competitions:There are three Team Tennis Schools annual competitions that run across Great Britain, for a range of age groups and abilities and culminate in national finals. These are;
- The Year 8 & Under and Year 10 & Under Competition
- The Senior Students Competition
- The National Schools Championship (for the Aberdare & Glanvill Cups)
-
Local Competitions: Working closely with The Youth Sport Trust, The Tennis Foundation and LTA have created a structure for Team Tennis Schools Competitions at Year 3&4 and Year 7&8 levels.
-
Other Competitions: : Due to differing local needs, Schools, Partnerships and Counties may wish to organise other competitions, such as internal leagues and house matches. Where a joint local need is identified, your County LTA and School Sport Partnerships may also run additional schools tennis competitions.
Schools Tennis Competition Guide:
The Schools Tennis Competition Guide is a folder and interactive CD-Rom, which has been designed to make the process of running Schools Competition as easy as possible. It has been distributed to all 225 Competition Managers in England.
