Working in Primary Schools; 1 day Coach CPD Module:

This 1 day course is aimed at coaches wanting to develop their skills to deliver tennis within
primary schools.

The course covers:

  • Working with large groups
  • Working in small spaces
  • How school sport works – who to speak to?
  • How to develop successful school club links
  • How to use tennis to deliver the PE curriculum
  • What tennis resources and support are available for schools

Attendees on this course should have achieved UKCC Level 2 (as a minimum) and the course costs £40. The majority of Counties will be organising one course between September 2009 and March 2010 - log into the Secure Coaches Area of the LTA website to search for courses, or contact your local Tennis Development Manager for more info.


Coach License - Schools Tennis E-Test:

A Schools Tennis ‘E-Test’ is available to coaches, to offer an accessible and convenient way
of keeping their knowledge up to date, while earning credits towards their Coach Licence.

The ‘E-Test’ looks at the range of resources available to schools, the benefits of developing
school-club links and the school sport infrastructure within England, Scotland and Wales.

Tennis Assembly Video:

A musical tennis compilation video is available to download, for coaches to use within assemblies, or as an introduction to a block of schools tennis sessions. The video is available in 2 different formats - please note that this is a large file and may take some time to download.


Conference / Forum Presentations:

9 National Club Coach Forums took place at various venues during February and March 2009. A 'School Club Links' session ran at each Forum and a copy of the presentation is available to download below:

The Tennis Scotland Coaches Conference took place at The University of Stirling on 24/25 October 2009 and a number of sessions at the event looked at school club links and coaches working in schools.
