Get on court
Find a place to play. From free park courts, to joining a club there are many options to choose from when looking for a place to play.
Get your school involved. If your school doesn't offer tennis already, visit the schools section to find out how you can help get a tennis programme started.
Equipment
Rackets can be purchased at very reasonable costs from your local sports store. For younger players, a smaller racket should be used to ensure that the size and weight is appropriate for the players' strength.
Balls come in four different colours. Red, orange, and green are for mini tennis and are low compression to make learning the correct technique possible.

Find a coach to help you
While coaching is not essential, it can help while you are getting started. A qualified coach will teach you the basics so you have a good start and can offer you sound advice on equipment and competition if you're interested.
To find a coach in your area, use Find a Coach search on the LTA website.
