The TF and Tim Henman OBE invite the nation to play more tennis
24 June 2009
Britain’s former tennis court favourite, Tim Henman OBE, whose exploits inspired tennis fans to rename the Aorangi terrace at Wimbledon as the unofficial ‘Henman Hill’, is calling for you all to harness the nation’s excitement for Wimbledon to rediscover your local park court and public facility with the launch of www.eparktennis.com, an online resource which will allow you to ‘find places to play tennis’ from The Tennis Foundation.
During Wimbledon, 16 ‘mini Henman hills’ were planned to be put up around the country all with big screens highlighting the tennis, Henman hoped this initiative would encourage the 3.2 million of you who pick up a racket during Wimbledon, and especially just the 2 million of you who only play once, to start playing fun tennis regularly.
Tennis delivers overall physical, mental and emotional gains to all age groups who play and it is never too late for adults and children to take up the game.
