National Student Tennis Conference Weekend returns for a second year

Run by the Tennis Foundation and now in its second year, this year’s National Student Tennis Conference Weekend will take place at Loughborough University on Saturday 1st – Sunday 2nd April 2017.

Last year’s conference saw both college and university students from Scotland to Exeter attend. With 99% of last year’s attendees stating that they would be interested in attending again this year students are being encouraged to book their place now!

The conference weekend will run alongside the BUCS Individuals National Finals, which will see Great Britain’s top university performance players complete for the positions of singles and doubles champions.

National Student Tennis Pathways Conference: Saturday 1st April 2017

The National Student Tennis Pathways Conference is aimed at students who are interested in finding out about the pathways that tennis can offer into higher education or employment. The conference will provide a platform for students to hear about the range of tennis opportunities on offer which can help you to gain valuable employability and life skills, and in turn help you progress into higher education or employment. Throughout the day, students will have the opportunity to attend workshops relating to specific careers and also hear from leading employers across the sports industry. Workshops include;

  • Top tips for CV’s and interview
  • Career Pathways
  • Management Opportunities In Tennis
  • A Career in Marketing

Matchplay Sports Science: Sunday 2nd April 2017

Following on from the success of last year’s conference, this year’s conference will focus on the impact sports science can have on match play, with the workshops taking place at the same time in the same venue as the BUCS national tennis championships. This will provide the opportunity to both attend presentations and see high level tennis, with sessions being linked to matches in the BUCS championships.

The Conference is aimed at students but is also relevant to coaches who wish to know more about how sports science can be integrated into their programmes. We have made 30 places available to coaches – so book now as spaces are limited!
