A week on from both contesting the Biel-Bienne Indoor in Switzerland, Louise Hunt and Lauren Jones were back in Europe for another ITF 3 Series tournament, the Alpi Del Mare in Cuneo, Italy. Hunt won her second doubles title in as many weeks and also finished runner-up in her first women’s singles final of 2018.
Louise Hunt completed this year’s Alpi Del Mare as runner-up in the women’s singles after her doubles partner Giulia Capocci won Sunday’s final 6-4, 6-1.
Louise Hunt and Giulia Capocci of Italy made it back to-back women’s doubles titles and Hunt booked her place in her first singles final of 2018 on the penultimate day of play in Cuneo.
Top seeds Hunt and Capocci produced another commanding performance in the doubles final, defeating second seeds Emmanuelle Morch of France and Mariska Venter of South Africa 6-0, 6-2.

Second seed Hunt will play top seed Capocci in Sunday’s women’s singles final after the Brit came from 4-1 and 5-2 down in a first set tie-break against fourth seed Maria Florencia Moreno to beat the Argentinian 7-6(5), 6-0
Louise Hunt is through to the women’s singles semi-finals in Cuneo and will also bid for her second doubles title in successive weeks on Saturday’s penultimate day of play.
Second seed Hunt beat South Africa’s Mariska Venter 6-3, 6-3 to book her place in the last four of the women’s singles. She now faces Argentina’s Maria Florencia Moreno after the fourth seed beat Lauren Jones 6-3, 6-1 to end any hopes of an all-Brit semi-final.
Hunt and Giulia Capocci of Italy are also one win away from following up on their doubles title at last week’s Biel-Bienne Indoor. Top seeds Hunt and Capocci play second seeds Emmanuelle Morch of France and Venter in Saturday’s final after defeating Sweden’s Rebecka Bellander and Switzerland’s Nalani Buob 6-2, 6-4.
Lauren Jones booked her place in the women’s singles quarter-finals after defeating Silvia Morotti of Italy 6-0, 6-3. Jones next plays Argentinian third seed Maria Florencia Moreno for a place in the semi-finals. Meanwhile, after her first round bye Hunt will take on South Africa’s Mariska Venter for a place in the last four. Wins for both Jones and Hunt would set up an all-Brit semi-final.
For the second week in a row Hunt aims to partner Italy’s Giulia Capocci to a women’s doubles title. After a first round bye the top seeds and last week’s Biel-Bienne Indoor champions play Donna Jansen of the Netherlands and Morotti for a place in this week’s final.
With Jones’s planned partner having had to withdraw from the ITF 3 event Jones will not contest the women’s doubles in Cuneo.
After winning her first title of 2018 in the women’s doubles in Biel-Bienne, Hunt begins her Alpi Del Mare challenge as women’s singles second seed. After a first round bye Hunt will play Mariska Venter of South Africa or Rebecka Bellander of Sweden. As in Switzerland, Hunt and Jones are both in the same half of the women’s singles draw and could potentially meet in the semi-finals, should results go their way. Jones plays Italy’s Silvia Morotti in her opening match.
