Coaching

As a coach, there are a number of ways that you can get involved; volunteering your time on court, setting up your own business or even running your own competitions.

Get qualified

By getting on or moving up the coaching pathway, you can offer coaching to both adults and children in parks and tennis centres helping others enjoy the game while staying active and meeting new people.

"I play VI (Visually Impaired) Tennis and wanted to help many new players who would like to get into the sport. I therefore contacted the TF for help and they gave me the support I needed in order to take the UK CC Level 1. I received a grant through Coach-ability and my friend received support from the Dan Maskell Tennis Trust I have now passed the course with my friend Amanda Green"

Coach in your community

Get involved in your local school program or get one started if they aren't offering tennis yet.

Tennis is now one of the Youth Sport Trusts priority sports and we intend to train more and more coaches to teach tennis in primary and secondary schools, to help us to get into every school in the country with a sustainabale tennis programme. If you are an enthusiastic person who would like to work in this very motivating area why not have a go, start the process, get qualified.

Offer coaching at your local park or tennis centre. We are looking for enthusiastic coaches to start working in parks throughout the UK. Almost every park has tennis courts we want people to begin using them again, otherwise they may be lost forever.

Why Not Start your own Park Community Tennis centre

The Tennis Foundation plans to launch a support package, offering the opportunity for entrepreneurs to start their own tennis operation. We want to develop Community Tennis Centres in every local authority area in the UK. There are approximatelty 10,000 park courts in the country and we need coaches to run Beacon and Hotspot sites offering afforable tennis coaching and competiton to the local community.

Contact one of the team if you would like to discuss how the Tennis Foundation can work with you to develop a Beacon site, which could be in a school; park or leisure centre.
