Message from the President of the NEC Corporation                                                   NEC Wheelchair Tennis Tour


On behalf of NEC, I welcome you to the NEC Wheelchair Tennis Tour.

Tennis is a dynamic, challenging and exciting sport – as I am sure you will agree. But  it is accessible to young and old alike. Whether in a wheelchair or on foot, tennis can be enjoyed by everyone together.

It expresses innovation, self-help, hope, passion, collaboration, determination, and achievement. Passion for innovation, self-help, and collaboration are part of NEC’s core values.  For more than 100 years in a true pioneering spirit of corporate citizenship, NEC has shown a relentless commitment to combining effective business with the creation of a sustainable society of affluence and full of diversity. Indeed, NEC strives through businesses such as our IT and network integrated solutions and semiconductor solutions to contribute to the attainment of a wealthier society with deepened mutual understanding among people worldwide. Our goal is the “realization of human potential” – enabling individuals and groups to achieve their targets using the technologies that are available to them.

 

NEC is showing this commitment again during this event in supporting a sport that is still one of the fastest-growing wheelchair sports in the world. We are proud that the tour continues to grow in popularity globally. It is wonderful to see so many amazing men and women celebrating their passion and enthusiasm together (after travelling from quite a distance sometimes) at the tournaments of the NEC Wheelchair Tennis Tour around the world that are professionally organized.

 

This success would not have been possible without the dedicated efforts of the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and every wheelchair tennis association around the world, which I highly appreciate. I would also like to thank all the athletes, coaches, sponsors, and volunteers in the local communities who have contributed so much to the success of this tour.
